A Sign

Give me a sign,
So I know you’re there.
Looking down on me,
From a place somewhere.

Don’t be too obvious,
For you just might scare,
This clueless crowd,
That rests over here.

If you try and be gentle,
As soft as you can,
All these weathered leaves,
Could turn to sand?

You don’t really need,
To make a mess,
I just need some kind,
Of a placid caress

A tender sprinkle,
From up above,
Or the enthralling fragrance,
Of a meadow upfront

A beam of luminosity,
From an azure sky,
Or the sustaining humming,
Of a creature in the night

And all I ask for is a delicate sign,
So that I could too come to realize,
That in this mellow place, I’m not alone,
And that you’re always nearby.

Brightness

Brightness fills my empty thoughts,
Now I feel a bit less lost.
Winter frost settles in,
 Headspin?

Morning breaks,
The sun comes up.
Ice to water,
Water to dust?

Time stops moving,
But the day moves on.
The evening has arrived,
 My thoughts collide.

Somethings wrong,
The mist seems clear.
Am I loosing my mind,
Is the end near?

And then I wake at 6 a.m,
Sunlight spills into the room.
Brightness fills my empty thoughts,
Now I feel a bit less lost. :)

I'm Not Me

“I can’t sleep.
Well the truth is,
I don’t wanna sleep.
But everyone else in asleep.
And the lights are out”.

“I can’t speak.
Well the truth is,
I don’t wanna speak.
But everyone else is conversing.
Spilling their minds out”.

“I can’t work.
Well the truth is,
I don’t wanna work.
But everyone else is busy.
Burning the midnight oil”.

“I can’t eat.
Well the truth is,
I don’t wanna eat.
But everyone else is eating.
And that’s all they do”.

“I can’t learn.
Well the truth is,
I don’t wanna learn.
But everyone else is learning.
Things they’ll never need to”.

“I can’t feel
Well the truth is,
I don’t wanna feel.
But everyone else is feelin’,
Things even they don’t want to”.

“I can’t calculate.
Well the truth is,
I don’t wanna calculate.
But everyone else is analyzing,
Figures they don’t need to”.

“I can’t compose.
Well the truth is,
I don’t wanna compose.
But everyone else is furnishing,
A melody or two”.

“I can’t be free.
Well the truth is,
I don’t wanna be free.
But everyone else has the freedom,
To be some kind of visionary”.

“I can’t escape.
Well the truth is,
I don’t wanna escape.
But everyone else is leaving,
This godforsaken mystery”.

“I’m not me.
I’m you.
You seem lost.
So I am too”.

We Need. We Want

And what we need is just another melody,
To calm our hearts,
And to make us look,
Beyond that fence of disbelief.

And what we’ll do,
To set ourselves free,
From this world of mystery,
If only you could see?

And what we need,
Is just another broken heart,
So we can go back to the start,
And learn from our mistakes.

And what we’ll do,
For  freedom that we want,
A melody we crave,
Or an everlasting faith?

And what we want,
Is not what we need,
And all we’d do,
To make our dreams come true?

Mystery

Will you paint me a little picture?
Some kind of scenery,
To my specifications will you draw?
An awesome mystery!

Be sure to make an ocean,
A deep blue sea;
Some treasures resting beside,
A coral reef!

You have to make some hills,
With snow covered peaks,
Where life and love stand still,
And only silence speaks!

I also want a swamp,
Full of filth and greed,
You’ll have to use the dullest,
Blacks and greens!

A desert with those dunes,
Of grainy sand,
And crops which seem to prick,
When held in thou hands.

A forest is needed too,
Where the rain just never stops,
And all those creepers-crawlers,
Seem to live and rot.

Don't forget to make the forces,
Of fire, ice and wind,
For this world is not complete,
Devoid of all these little things!

Darling will you paint me,
Some kind of scenery,
Just don't forget to add,
That bit of mystery.
